For
many years,
the FGYO has been promoting franco-german exchanges between
youth coming from disadvantaged areas and often excluded from
such exchanges for various reasons. Yet such openess towards
"the Other" is fundamental in any identity construction
process aiming at making citizens aware of their own determinisms
and open to diversity.
Lets
no forget it: " everyone believes to see the world how
it is because everyone believes the world is how she/he sees
it". But, believing in interculturality, it is to assert
that it is possible to train ourselves to the awareness and
knowledge of our own culture and of others.
These
trainings are designed for counselors, social workers and social
actors working in disadvantaged areas or working with youth
from those areas.
We
designed those trainings to give future international exchanges
counselors, the tools and the knowledge that are necessary for
putting up such projects. We believe that by experiencing an
intercultural exchange themselves, participants will better
realize and understand the challenges they are going to face.
